.. where I walked through finding an Italian Restaurant near your hotel, an Indian Restaurant near an Italian place that you know (just for fun) and how to send information to another person so they can meet you there.
Let's say that it's YOU who's coming from the airport to that Italian place downtown. You enter your addresses (with LAX as the starting point), and get directions. Note that you might have to use the 'new starting location' link to enter "LAX"):
Pressing 'Route' retrieves directions (image extended to accomodate scroll bars). Pressing 'Map' retrieves the map, which will resize to full-screen on the mobile device when you tap the screen with the stylus. Pressing the right arrow advances the turn-by-turn display (it's the little red dot on the map) as you follow the route:
One of the coolest things about using Windows Live Search (WLS) for mobile devices is the ability to overlay current traffic conditions atop the map. If you're concerned about traffic (and in LA, who isn't?), click the Menu label and select 'Traffic' from the drop-down list:
As you get closer to your destination, you can zoom in by clicking the Menu label and selecting 'zoom in':

Don't wait. Link the browser on your mobile phone to http://wls.live.com and try it for yourself.
