Expression Studio Launches Today

Along with the launch of the "WPF/E" Customer Technology Preview (""WPF/E" (codename) CTP Launches Today"), we are launching a key component of our user experience strategy today in Expression Studio

Expression Studio delivers an end-to-end tools platform for creative designers that boosts developer collaboration in the delivery of next-generation user experiences for the Web, Windows Vista applications and beyond.

The Expression Studio includes:

  • Expression Web: enables developers to create standards-based websites.
  • Expression Design CTP (formally “Graphic Designer”): enables designers to create the visual elements for Web and Windows experiences, emitting XAML that can be integrated with developer code.
  • Expression Blend Beta 1 (formally “Interactive Designer”): enables developers to merge visual elements created by designers with their video, creating rich interactive experiences.

Joining the Expression Studio is a new tool:

  • Microsoft Expression Media (CTP in early 2007): provides digital asset management and unifies team workflow across the suite.

Note that Expression Web is shipping today; with a 60-day trial available for your review.  The full Expression Studio is planned for delivery in the second quarter of 2007.

Get more information and download the bits at Expression Suite home page.  While downloading the applications, check out our design resource at http://www.microsoft.com/design/.  You'll find video demos, team blogs and resources for designing your next-generation experience on the web and beyond.
