You might have noticed an update to Windows Live Local; there's a new '3D' icon in the toolbox in certain markets. This icon takes you to the next dimension in search: the Third Dimension.

Okay, drama aside: I use WLL almost every day and am very pleased with search results and driving directions. Without it, I'd be lost (literally). I've also had a great deal of fun with WLL Collections, and have shared them out to co-workers when they're visiting my regular haunts with me.
Bird's eye view is also very handy: when looking for a building, the 45-degree view is a much better visual than a rooftop view.
This 3D thing is off the charts, though. It's in limited markets at the moment, but if I know the WLL team, they're buzzing markets as I type, capturing images for content upgrades.
Requires a 500k software installation and broadband connection.
