As much as I love my Creative Jukebox

I just handed it down to my oldest son (who gave me a 'what is this brick?' look).  Well, he can use it until he finds his Samsuhg YH-920.

Amid news of a Microsoft “Ipod Killer” (BetaNews: “October debut for Microsoft 'iPod Killer'” (of which I know nothing about; so don't ask me), I recently acquired the Toshiba Gigabeat S (in piano black, of course).

The device is powered by Windows Portable Media Center with seamless integration with Windows Media Player 10 and Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.

The device comes in 30gb and 60gb HDD capacities.  With a 2.4" QVGA (320 x 240) LCD screen, it plays video and TV.  It also has a FM radio tuner built right in.

Navigation is familiar and easy with one hand; the Windows button lights up the main menu.

You can get more details on Windows Mobile: “Toshiba Gigabeat S Series Portable Media Center”.  Some quick fun facts:

    • 12 hours of audio and up to 2.5 hours of video
    • Compatible with multiple media file formats, including .wma, .wmv, .wav, JPEG, and MP3
    • Media download from Media Center PCs
    • Recorded TV download from TiVo Series2
    • Audio integration with Xbox 360

I just did a quick search on Amazon and found the device for $399.
