The Register is reporting “Google at work on desktop Linux”, a version of the popular Unbuntu desktop, known internally as 'Goobuntu'.
Google has confirmed it is working on a desktop linux project called Goobuntu, but declined to supply further details, including what the project is for.
Unhappily 'Goobuntu.com' appears to be registered, redirecting to a Cuban portal. Just for fun, Network Solutions reports the following alternatives are available:
-
goobun.com
-
bunsite.com
-
buntuworld.com
-
buntudirect.com
-
bananabuntu.com
I doubt any of these (especially the last) would 'appeal'.
