    MS Suit to "scare" Employees

    Lots of chats on the Kai-Fu Lee Microsoft vs Google lawsuit.  However, the latest News.com article “Quote of the day: Microsoft suit to 'scare' employess” (into staying) annoys the crap out of me.  Tack that on to another News.com masterpiece: “Whine from Google-Microsoft”, and you have an online news agency with some sort of odd axe to grind.

    This is a great company, with brilliant an innovative people and products.  We're proving we can solve business problems with technology and are interoperating like madmen with other companies' products and technologies.  I, for one, do not feel 'scared' by the company over Kai-Fu Lee's departure; that is clearly a unique case in the executive and corporate stratosphere. 

    I'm also not trying to defend the company in this fight (the company is perfectly capable of defending itself).  But I feel strongly that the company can decide what's right in these matters.  I'll defend the work and team environments and the quality of people tooth and nail.  I hope to do so as effectively as Robert Scoble did in his “dirty laundry“ post, back in June (which I refer to often; it's so well done).
