As if the Microsoft and Claria rumors weren't enough to show how much the market despises spyware, Rupert Murdoch,k Media Magnate (Fox News, for one) gets in the game, expanding his global media empire to include Intermix Media (“Sites that Engage”), an online entertainment (and marketing) company.
Intermix came under fire from the New York Attorney General (The Register) when they allegedly installed spyware along with their online offerings. They reached a tentative agreement with the state to pay a settlement of USD$7.5 million (eWeek).
