iPod Nano Screen Scratches - Solved!

It's great that Apple is standing behind their iPod Nano screen scratch problem.

Todd Dailey solves Apple's iPod Nano scratch problem

His observation?  There are likely two types of iPod Nano screens (different suppliers).

His solution?  A military staple (used for shining belt buckles and other wearable hardware): a $4 can of Brasso.

Ken Rockwell goes into depth on Brasso and two other products he's tried.

Look guys, if your ipod says "Do not disconnect", EJECT the ipod, and it'll tell you that you can disconnect it. That wasn't that hard, was it? Also, try holding the menu and center buttons to reset the ipod. If that doesn't work, go to apple, not some random blog.

Go on your computer, EJECT the ipod. Also, if it doesn't turn on, hold down the center button for 10 seconds and the ipod will reset.

    Apple Care Service
I’m very dissatisfied with the diagnostic evaluation that was performed on my iPod. There is no evidence of any external force, physical damage, of even a scratch. While listening to music the screen went white and then stopped. I find it easy for your company to simply pass this off as a damaged product to save money but let me make it clear I WILL NEVER AND ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANY OF YOUR PRODUCTS IF THIS IS NOT FIXED. I will give you one more chance to abide to the warranty that you so claim to guarantee. For the price of $150, and only one year warranty, I would expect your product to last longer than five months. Inside the return box that you sent back to my house was my original iPod and a copy of a mass printed APPLE CARE SERVICE FORM. The iPod was left to flop around inside the box unsecured with no support foam. Is this how all iPods are shipped??? The mass printed APPLE CARE SERVICE FORM looks to be a standard practice that your company just shipped back the customer. I think that my iPod was never inspected or troubelshooted to determine the problem. It probably never made it to a technician. In fact, I think someone is in place to receive, open the box, shove in a mass printed APPLE CARE SERVICE FORM, and send it back to the customer. Maybe he will pay more money to repair the problem. I will send this to all my E-mail accounts and to the consumer report business.

Called tech support spoke with TODD he stated that the plastic pin for the charger located at the bottom of the iPod was damaged. I looked at the pin and noticed that a small corner was in fact chipped away. This was done from plugging in the charger. So for that I was told the warranty will not cover this defect. Now for the price of 139.00 plus shipping and handling they would replace the iPod. I have to say that this is the biggest screw job, piece of crap and believe me I am done with iPod, iPhoe, iCrap, APPLE junk forever.
